Why Couples Fall in Love with a Stevens Estate at Osgood Hill Wedding
From the moment you step onto the property, there’s a warmth and gentle grandeur that feels both intentional and welcoming.
Classic, Historic, & Unmistakably New England

If you’re dreaming of an elegant, oceanfront wedding on Cape Cod, a wedding at Pelham House Resort is nothing short of breathtaking. Perched above Nantucket Sound in the charming town of Dennis Port, Pelham House Resort offers the perfect blend of coastal luxury, sweeping water views, and timeless New England charm.
As a Cape Cod wedding photographer, Pelham House Resort is one of my favorite venues to photograph for couples who value refined details, natural light, and a truly elevated wedding experience with the elegant coastal beach vibes they’ve always dreamed of.
Why Couples Love Pelham House Resort Weddings
Oceanfront Views Without Sacrificing Elegance
Pelham House Resort is known for its panoramic views of Nantucket Sound, creating a stunning backdrop for rehearsal dinners, ceremonies, cocktail hours and receptions. Unlike more rustic Cape Cod venues, Pelham House offers a polished, luxury setting that feels sophisticated yet relaxed.
From seaside ceremonies to candlelit receptions overlooking the water, every moment feels intentional and beautifully designed. And even though it’s a resort, it’s never crowded - ensuring the privacy and exclusivity you’d want for your perfect day.
Seamless Indoor & Outdoor Options
One of the biggest advantages of a Pelham House Resort wedding is flexibility. Couples can enjoy an outdoor ceremony with ocean views while still having a stunning indoor reception space — ideal for unpredictable New England weather. The ballroom’s floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to pour in with a neutral yet sophisticated design, so you can’t go wrong either way.
They also have space above the ballroom for a bridal suite, as well as another conference room with panoramic ocean views - perfect for the makeup artists and hairstylists to spread out for the bride and her bridal party.
The Photography Experience at Pelham House Resort
Pelham House Resort is a photographer’s dream. The light, neutral interiors paired with expansive ocean views allow wedding images to feel timeless and editorial with the Cape Cod coastal vibe you’ve been dreaming of.
As a photographer experienced with high-end Cape Cod venues, I focus on:
Using natural light to enhance the stunning backdrop of the space and landscape
Capturing candid, emotional moments
Creating elegant portraits that highlight both the couple and the scenery
Preserving the atmosphere of the day — not just the events
The result is a gallery that feels refined, emotional, personal and effortlessly coastal.

H & K, Chatham Lighthouse Beach
A romantic, dreamy, candid & playful engagement session in Cape Cod.
A dreamy Cape Cod engagement session, trying something new from my typical style, and absolutely loving it all.
H reached out to me because she was vacationing with her family and fiancé on the cape (for those who aren’t locals, it’s what we call Cape Cod). She found a photo that I posted and tagged on Instagram from her future wedding venue at Eolia Mansion in Harkness Park and saw I was local to Massachusetts. She has an artistic eye with a specific vision, and had a few ideas she was hoping I could bring to life that she didn’t see on my portfolio.
I just want to start by stating that I always, always, always will be down to try something new. Just shoot me a message to explain what you’re envisioning, and let’s see if we can make it happen.
When she filled out my engagement session questionnaire and sent a few inspo shots, I was in love.
She wanted the opposite of cookie cutter. She wanted romantic, dreamy, but playful. She loves blur and filmy out-of-focus vibes so I was excited to try something a little new, but maintain some of my own style.
And when we met, they ran with my direction even though I heard the very common phrase that being in front of the camera was a bit uncomfortable (but you’d never know by looking at them). I shared with them my biggest tip which is to try your best to let go and just keep moving. Which is exactly what they did, with my prompting, and without any awkward pressure. This is what makes your photos feel natural, feel candid, and quite honestly where you get those emotional in-the-moment images.
I made a few tweaks with my settings throughout our time together that I haven’t typically done, and oh.my.goodness do I love how they turned out.
And I just need to mention that I absolutely cannot wait to be part of their beautiful wedding day at Eolia this year.

The First Look // Marissa & Eden
Are you planning on having a first look for your wedding day?

Are you planning on having a first look for your wedding day?
A first look is a time before the ceremony takes place for the future newly-weds to have a moment together and also take photos with only each other before they walk down the aisle. It’s private and intimate, and can be planned in so many different ways. Out of all of my brides for 2021 and 2022, I would say about half are all for it, and the other half want to keep it traditional and have their future husbands see them for the first time walking down the aisle.
I’ll start with a few pro’s:
You’re a little shy, don’t love PDA, or showing too much emotion in front of friends and family. Seeing your partner for the first time on the wedding day is so very RAW with emotion, and first looks are too. Ceremonies can be very intimidating for someone who is a bit of an introvert! However, you have that comfortability with your partner to get those emotions and (often times) tears out before you’re walking down the aisle with ALL eyes on you. This is a great time where you can feel comfortable reacting however you naturally and candidly would by seeing each other as Bride and Groom for the first time, without feeling like you need to hold back or keep it together at the ceremony. This is actually a great way to calm the nerves by getting them all out due to the magnitude of the day and relax a bit before walking down the aisle.
You have that one-on-one precious time to just be present with each other on the biggest day of your lives. The wedding day completely flies by and hours sometimes feel like minutes. This is your big day, and you can have the opportunity to pause and just love on each other, calm each others nerves, and feel all the feels.
You can get most of your photos done before the ceremony so you can enjoy most of your day with your guests! Let’s be real - you are spending big money on a very short amount of time to celebrate the biggest day of your life. Traditionally, you get ready, then you have the ceremony, then your guests enjoy cocktail hour so you can go off with family to take photos, then have photos with your wedding party, then between just the two of you. An hour is NOT a very long time to work with, and you miss that big chunk of time you could have been enjoying with your friends and loved ones at your cocktail hour. Get the photos done before the ceremony, and you get that time back into your day to just enjoy it.
Now, not everyone is going to agree with the pro’s I listed above. To be fair, I listed a few con’s below of why you might not want to go for a first look:
You want your hubby to see you for the first time walking down there aisle, as traditionally done at weddings, so you can see and feel the emotion of their reaction. It’s quite literally the biggest emotional moment of the day, and the biggest tradition to have for your wedding day. There’s nothing like when the Officiant announces the Bride to walk down the aisle, and everyone stands to watch as she passes through to her future husband, as the smile on his face lights up the room or the tears start flowing uncontrollably.
You can start getting ready for the day a bit closer to the ceremony time. Maybe you’re planning on partying hard at the rehearsal dinner, or you know the nerves of the day may keep you up most of the night. At least you know that you only need to be at the ceremony location 30 minutes prior, so you may be able to get more sleep.
You don’t have to worry about getting your dress, shoes, or tux a bit dirty. It’s not that you will be rolling around in the grass or dirt, but since you are getting dressed then heading straight to the ceremony, you know you are going to be looking flawless.
Now maybe because I’m a little biased, here are some first look magic shots of Marissa & Eden…
