An Elegant Garden Estate Wedding at Eolia Mansion in Connecticut

An Engagement Session That Started It All

When H and Kyle first reached out to me, it wasn’t for their wedding

The summer before their wedding, K proposed to H at Chatham Lighthouse Beach on Cape Cod. A year later, while on a vacation in the Cape, they reached out to me looking for a photographer to document their engagement photos at the same beach where they became fiancé’s.

From our very first conversation, I knew H had a distinct creative vision. She was drawn to imagery that felt emotional, artful, and full of movement—photographs that embraced blur, texture, and feeling while still capturing the effortless coastal energy of Cape Cod. It was a bit of a creative departure from many of the engagement sessions I had photographed before, and I was SO excited to try something a little different. I absolutely loved collaborating with her to bring that vision to life and try something new.

By the time their gallery was delivered, I knew it was one of those sessions that would stay with me.

A few months later, H reached out again. After seeing their engagement photos and their experience working with me, they asked if I would photograph their wedding at Eolia Mansion at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut.

There are few compliments greater than being trusted once, then being invited back to document one of the most important days in a couple's life. To say I was excited would be an understatement.

One of the things I appreciated most throughout the process was the trust H placed in me to blend her moodier, more artistic editing preferences with my own approach.

I always strive to create work that reflects my couples' vision while staying true to the style that defines my photography, and this experience felt like the perfect balance of both.

A Heartfelt Ceremony Focused on Family and Connection

One moment from the ceremony that stood out was when the officiant invited both families to join hands after H’s parents walked her down the aisle.

It wasn’t something I had seen before, and as everyone gathered around H and K, forming a circle of joined hands, there was a palpable sense of love and support in the air. The officiant spoke about the joining of not just two people, but two families, and the promise that H and K would never walk through life alone. Looking around at the parents, siblings, and loved ones surrounding them, it felt like a powerful reminder that marriage is held up by an entire community of people who care deeply for one another.

It was an incredibly moving moment—one that brought an added layer of emotion to the ceremony—and it made for one of my favorite photographs from the day.

A Wedding Designed with Intention

What made the day especially memorable was how seamlessly it reflected the same qualities that drew me to their engagement session: intention, creativity, and a genuine connection to one another. Every detail felt thoughtfully chosen, but nothing ever overshadowed the joy of simply being together.

Photographing both their engagement session and wedding was an incredible honor, and I will always remember them, their trust, and the beautiful celebration they created together.
